PART-TIME COOK / DIETARY AIDE
Location: Freehold, New JerseyWe are currently seeking an experienced part time Cook/Dietary Aide. Are you someone who is outgoing, organized, resourceful, has great initiative and is a dedicated team player? If so, read on!! This diverse position is responsible for preparing high quality food on weekends and also for performing the duties of a dietary aide during the week.
Hours: 22-28 per week, flexible days and evenings.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- • Preparing high quality meals in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner.
- • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specification procedures.
- • Restocks items, as needed, throughout shift.
- • Cleans and maintains area and practices outstanding safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
- • Utilize and maintain kitchen equipment.
- • Prepare meals for customers with special requirements such as food allergies, special needs, etc.
- • Ensure quality and safety of meals by performing standard measures such as sweeping of floors, cleaning of surfaces, as well as proper covering and storage of food in accordance with standards and procedures.
- • Demonstrate flexibility and volunteer to fill open shifts, as needed.
- • Reports any infractions to Food Service Director.
- • Assist in preparing dining room, loading food carts, and serving residents.
- • Wash and store dishes.
- • Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
- • Other duties as requested.
Qualified candidates will have:
- • High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ years cooking experience in a long-term care or sub-acute setting.
- • Good working knowledge of methods and procedures for preparing and serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling.
- • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, understand verbal and written instructions, practice active listening and communicate effectively.
- • Must have a high threshold for heat in a kitchen environment.
- • The ability to successfully complete a physical exam and complete background check (if you are a final candidate!)
- • Flexibility regarding days and weekends worked.
- • Must have highly effective teamwork skills and want to make a difference!
